The Zambia Under-20 Women’s Football Team today faces Uganda in the reverse fixture of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The second leg tie will be played at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium at 15:00 hours. With the first leg ending in a 1–1 draw, victory for either side will be crucial in progressing to the next round.
Speaking during a pre-match press conference, Zambia Under-20 Coach Florence Mwila said the team has done its homework and is ready to tackle an aggressive opponent like Uganda. She added that the technical bench will change its approach in a bid to secure a win.
Uganda Head Coach Sheryl Botes says Zambia may have the edge on paper but described the fixture as a measuring stick for her squad’s growth.
Zambia’s Jessy Zulu believes the midfield battle will decide the contest, noting that the team has been drilled on cutting supply lines and protecting the backline.
Uganda captain Agness Nabukenya, who scored in the first leg, said her team will be more clinical in front of goal.
