The National Council for Construction (NCC) says the number of registered contractors increased in 2025 compared to 2024.
A total of 14,253 contractor registration certificates were issued in 2025, up from 13,431 certificates in 2024.
NCC Executive Director Professor Paul Makasa attributed the rise to the growing participation of small and medium-scale contractors in Constituency Development Fund (CDF) projects.
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, Professor Makasa said the increase in registrations reflects the growth and expansion of Zambia’s construction industry.
