The Zambia Air Force (ZAF) will next month host its first-ever expo and marathon, scheduled for 6th to 7th March 2026, as part of celebrations marking 61 years of existence and Air Force Day on March 1.

ZAF Commander Lieutenant General Oscar Nyoni said the event aims to raise K6 million to support the rehabilitation of Mitanda Home for the Aged and to purchase desks for Lions School for Disabled Children in Ndola.

Speaking during a media breakfast in Kitwe, General Nyoni explained that the half-day marathon will feature 2,000 runners and attract over 1,000 visitors, with the longest race set at 21 kilometers.

He emphasized that the expo and marathon are not just sporting events but platforms for impact and corporate social responsibility, with exhibitions showcasing the Air Force and aviation industry.

Access Bank Managing Director Dr. Iheanyi Nwogu announced the bank as the diamond sponsor, contributing K500,000 towards the event.

Meanwhile, ZAF Expo and Marathon Lead Consultant Joseph Maopu, who is also Executive Director of Toursport, said the event has attracted about 200 exhibitors from across the country.
