Permanent Secretaries Told to Act Swiftly

Secretary to the Cabinet PATRICK KANGWA has urged Permanent Secretaries to act promptly on Presidential directives issued during the national address to Parliament.

Mr. KANGWA says timely implementation is essential to accelerate national development and maintain the country’s growth momentum.

Speaking at the 2026 Second Senior Public Service Meeting in Lusaka, Mr. KANGWA said coordinated and swift action across ministries would ensure government programmes are delivered effectively.

He noted that improved productivity and a strong work ethic within the public service are central to improving service delivery.

Mr. KANGWA also called on public servants to uphold high standards of professionalism and integrity.

He said Zambia’s development will be driven by its citizens, adding that national progress requires collective effort.

Mr. KANGWA further said continuous training and capacity building are necessary to keep the workforce skilled and responsive to emerging demands.
