The Electoral Commission of Zambia –ECZ- has extended the ongoing physical inspection of the Provisional Register of Voters by two days to allow more registered voters to verify their details and access voter services.
According to ECZ Chief Electoral Officer BROWN KASARO, the inspection exercise, which began on March 2, 2026 and was scheduled to close today, Sunday, March 8, will now end on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.
Mr. KASARO said the extension will give registered voters additional time to access voter registration kits deployed at designated centres and polling stations across the country.
“The extension is intended to allow registered voters to access the Voter Registration Kits which have been deployed at designated centres,” Mr. KASARO said in a statement issued today.
He said the centres are providing several services during the inspection period, including the replacement of lost, defaced or damaged voter’s cards and the transfer of voters between polling stations.
Other services include claims by registered voters whose details may not appear on the provisional register, as well as appeals and objections. The process will also allow for the removal of deceased voters from the Register of Voters.
Mr. KASARO urged all registered voters who have not yet inspected their details to visit their respective polling stations or any designated centre before the exercise ends.
“The Commission therefore urges all registered voters who have not yet inspected their details to visit their polling stations or any designated centre before the exercise comes to an end on Tuesday, March 10, 2026,” he said.
He added that electronic inspection platforms will remain open during the extension period. These include the USSD short code *214#, the online portal and the ECZ mobile application, which allow voters to verify their details remotely.
Mr. KASARO encouraged eligible voters to use the extended period to check the accuracy of their details and access the available services where necessary.
