Four Arrested in Mkushi Over K100,000 Corruption Case

Four people, including two Ministry of Education officers and two bank employees, have been arrested in Mkushi, Central Province, for alleged corruption involving K100,000.
Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Acting Head of Corporate Communications, Chilufya Chisanga, confirmed the arrests in a statement.
Ms. Chisanga identified the suspects as Patrick Nkhuwa, a Planning Officer, and Nakeempa Okello, an Accounts Assistant under the District Education Board Secretary (DEBS) Office. The two bank employees were named as Joseph Mwape and Dennis Baines.
She explained that between July 1 and December 31, 2025, the suspects corruptly facilitated the awarding of a goods supply contract to Ichikwanka Multi-Purpose Cooperative.
Investigations established that the suspects received payments as inducement in the awarding of the contract, valued at over K1 million.
