The United Party for National Development (UPND) says young people are central to Zambia’s national development agenda.
UPND National Youth Chairperson Gilbert Liswaniso said government’s youth empowerment initiatives demonstrate a clear commitment to creating opportunities for young people across the country.
Speaking in Solwezi, Mr. Liswaniso explained that these programmes equip youths with skills and financial support, enabling them to participate meaningfully in Zambia’s economic growth. He emphasized that young people play a critical role in driving innovation, entrepreneurship, and community development.
Meanwhile, UPND North Western Province Youth Chairperson Bruce Kanema called on youths to actively participate in the upcoming National Youth Day celebrations in Solwezi. He stressed that the event is a national celebration, not a political gathering, and urged youths from all walks of life to take part.
Solwezi Town Clerk Stanley Mbewe said the district is fully prepared to host the event, with all logistical arrangements in place to ensure its success. He added that hosting National Youth Day in Solwezi will showcase the district’s development and promote unity among young people from across the country.
