Fire Guts NATSAVE Bank Building in Mongu

A fire has gutted the NATSAVE Bank building in Mongu, Western Province.
The incident occurred today, March 9, 2026, at around 10:00 hours. Western Province Police Commissioner Rae Hamoonga confirmed to ZNBC News that a security guard stationed at the premises noticed smoke coming from the Bank Manager’s office and quickly alerted management.
Mr. Hamoonga said fire brigades from the Mongu Municipal Council, TAZAMA, and the National Airports Corporation responded swiftly and managed to contain the fire.
Meanwhile, NATSAVE Bank Manager of Public Relations, Judith Tembo, said the situation has been contained and that relevant authorities will be engaged to assess the extent of the damage.
She added that banking operations will continue normally on NATSAVE’s digital platforms, while customers requiring counter services are advised to go to Access Bank in Mongu, located at Barotse Mall in town.
