Police have opened a docket for murder against fugitive Allan Chibuye, who allegedly burnt Gibson Zulu following a fight in Lusaka’s Lilanda township.
The incident occurred on March 9, 2026, after which Zulu was rescued and taken to hospital. He later died from severe burn injuries sustained when he was tied and set on fire in the house he shared with Chibuye.
Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi confirmed Zulu’s death in hospital, where he had been receiving treatment.
Mr. Chilabi stated that police have since intensified the search for Chibuye.
