Police Clear Chingola Suspect in ‘Disappearance’ Allegations

By Martha Kanene

Police in Chingola have released a 61-year-old man who was recently apprehended by members of the public on suspicion of causing men’s private parts to disappear through physical contact.

Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi said the suspect was interviewed and investigations found no evidence to support the allegations.

Mr. Chilabi explained that police conducted voluntary checks on the five complainants to verify the claims and established that there was no physical harm.

He noted that on March 14, 2026, police received a report alleging that the suspect was causing men’s private parts to disappear in the Central Business District of Chingola. The alleged victims reported that after being tapped on the shoulder by the suspect, they felt a strange sensation and believed their private parts had disappeared.

However, police clarified that no such incidents occurred and urged members of the public to report such matters through established legal channels rather than taking the law into their own hands.
