By Martha Kanene

The Citizen Economic Empowerment Commission (CEEC) has floated 20 million Kwacha on the Imisepela Application to help young people start or expand their businesses.

So far, the Commission has disbursed six million Kwacha to more than 300 youths through the Imisepela App, which was launched on Youth Day.

CEEC Public Relations and Communications Manager Michelo Mukata explained that beneficiaries who had initially submitted physical applications since January were asked to resubmit them via the digital platform.

Mr. Mukata said that starting from March 12, 2026, each beneficiary received 20,000 Kwacha under the Busulu loan product, which is specifically designed to support youth-led entrepreneurs.

He urged youths across the country to take advantage of the Imisepela App and apply for the various empowerment opportunities available.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mukata revealed that between 2021 and 2025, the Commission supported more than 12,000 youth entrepreneurs with over 200 million Kwacha in business loans. He added that the introduction of the digital platform is expected to further increase youth participation in empowerment programmes nationwide.
