Government says Zambia continues to attract investments in the mining sector as global demand for copper intensifies.
This follows the formal launch of Makor Resources’ operations in Zambia during a high-level media and stakeholder briefing held in Lusaka.
Ministry of Information and Media Permanent Secretary Thabo Kawana said the development signals growing confidence in Zambia’s mining industry. He noted that the entry of Makor Resources reflects government’s efforts to position the country as a competitive and responsible mining destination.
Mr. Kawana was represented by Permanent Secretary for Special Duties at Cabinet Office, Wisdom Bwalya, during the briefing.
Makor Resources Chief Executive Officer Brooke Bibeault said the company is focused on developing scalable mining projects to help address global supply constraints.
Meanwhile, Director of Corporate Affairs Mary Mubanga emphasized that the company is committed to working with government and local communities in developing the mining sector.
