Premier of the Chinese State Council Li Qiang has arrived in Zambia this evening for a two-day high-level visit at the invitation of President Hakainde Hichilema.
During the visit, Mr. Li will hold bilateral talks with President Hichilema and witness the ground-breaking of the Tanzania-Zambia Railway Authority (TAZARA) revitalisation project.
His trip follows President Hichilema’s state visit to China in September 2023, during which Zambia and China upgraded their long-standing relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership.
The visit is expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two countries in infrastructure development, trade, and investment.
