Former Zambia Revenue Authority –ZRA- Commissioner General KINGSLEY CHANDA and his co-convict, former Director CALLISTUS KAOMA, have been granted bail of fifty thousand Kwacha each.
Lusaka Acting Chief Resident Magistrate SYLVIA MUNYINYA has further ordered Mr. CHANDA and Mr. KAOMA to provide two working sureties each, with fixed abode.
Magistrate MUNYINYA ruled that the duo had shown that their appeal raises arguable issues.
Mr. CHANDA was sentenced to six years’ imprisonment after being found guilty on three out of twenty-two counts relating to failure to follow procedure in the disposal of twenty-two ZRA vehicles.
Mr. KAOMA was sentenced to nine years’ imprisonment after being found guilty on sixteen counts.
