Choma District in Southern Province is set to host a 900-megawatt solar power project valued at $500 million.
The investment follows interest expressed by the China National Trade Promotion Association, whose 15-member delegation, led by James Chen, identified Muzuma area as the preferred project site.
Southern Province Permanent Secretary Namani Monze welcomed the investment, noting its potential to transform the region’s energy landscape and contribute to Zambia’s renewable energy goals.
The project is expected to significantly boost power generation capacity, strengthen energy security, and create opportunities for local economic development.
