Health Minister Elijah Muchima has announced that the recruitment of health workers will commence soon after treasury authority is granted.
Dr. Muchima explained that the recruitment process follows established procedures which must be adhered to before implementation. He assured members of the Resident Doctors Association of Zambia (RDAZ) of government’s commitment, urging them to continue providing medical services out of duty and professionalism.
His remarks come in response to RDAZ’s announced withdrawal of labour by its members, effective December 19, 2025.
The Minister advised doctors to engage directly with government rather than rushing to the media to air grievances, emphasizing that dialogue remains the best path to resolving concerns.
