A newly born male baby has been abandoned by an unknown person in Barlastone Park, Lusaka West.
The infant was discovered yesterday around 14:00 hours in the Jamaica area of Barlastone Park by a member of the public.
Police Spokesperson Godfrey Chilabi confirmed the incident, stating that the baby was found naked, crying, and exposed to the rains along a roadside.
Mr. Chilabi said the infant was immediately taken to the University Teaching Hospital (UTH) for treatment. He added that police have since opened investigations to identify and bring to justice those responsible for the abandonment.
