ZANIS -Thirteen houses have collapsed in Chifunabuli District, Luapula Province, following heavy rains earlier this week.
The incident occurred in Kapamba Ward under Chief Mwansakombe’s area between Monday, December 8, and Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
Chifunabuli District Commissioner Stanley Mukosa confirmed the development, noting that the affected families are now relying on extended families and neighbours for shelter. He added that the families have lost household property and food supplies in the disaster.
Meanwhile, District Disaster Management and Mitigation Officer Lawrence Jaliso said a report on the incident has been compiled to guide response efforts.
