IBA Renews Licences for 15 Radio Stations

The Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) has renewed broadcasting licences for fifteen radio stations across Zambia.

IBA Director General and Board Secretary Webster Malido said the renewals were approved during the Authority’s 43rd Board Meeting, in line with the IBA Amendment Act No. 26 of 2010.

Mr. Malido explained that the renewed licences, covering both community and commercial radio stations, are valid for five years. He emphasized that stations must pay prescribed fees and adhere to broadcasting guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures.

He further reminded all broadcasting stations to submit renewal applications at least six months before expiry, in accordance with the IBA Act.
