The government has launched an online passport application process, now integrated into the Government Service Bus –GSB- and fully operational.

This new system allows citizens to apply for Zambian and Diplomatic passports, refugee travel documents, and travel documents of identity, among other services, all through the ZAMPORTAL.
The initiative, developed by the Smart Zambia Institute in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and National Planning, aims to streamline passport services and improve efficiency.
Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister JACK MWIIMBU made the announcement in a ministerial statement to the National Assembly, explaining that the online application process will significantly reduce long queues at passport offices.
Mr. MWIIMBU added that the digital service will allow applicants to complete their applications using phones or computers, receive electronic feedback, and track the progress of their applications in real time.
