The UPND has announced TIMOTHY KANTHENGA as its candidate for the CHAWAMA Parliamentary Constituency by-election.
The announcement was made by UPND Chairperson for Elections, GARY NKOMBO, who said the party is confident of victory in the upcoming poll.
Speaking at a media briefing in Lusaka today, Mr. NKOMBO cited the party’s recent successes in by-elections and expressed optimism ahead of the 2026 general election.
Mr. KANTHENGA said he intends to mobilise grassroots support for President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA, the party and its parliamentary candidates, with a target of securing 100,000 votes for the HH campaign.
He also called for unity and collective effort in order to secure victory in the 2026 elections.
The CHAWAMA Constituency by-election is scheduled for January 15, 2026.
