Negotiations Between Unions and Government Extended to January

By Alice Lubasi

Public Service Trade Unions have agreed to Government’s request to extend the collective agreement negotiations until January 19, 2026, providing additional time for consultation.

Unions Team Leader, NELSON MWALE, says the deferment was accepted to allow Government to present an offer acceptable to the trade unions.

Speaking after the meeting, Mr. MWALE said negotiations are progressing well, but he insisted that the process should be concluded within January.

He also appealed to members across the various unions to remain patient as discussions continue.
