Five FRA Workers Arrested for Alleged Maize Forgery

Five employees of the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) in Monze, Southern Province, and Mumbwa, Central Province, have been arrested for alleged forgery involving maize supply documents.

Drug Enforcement Commission (DEC) Spokesperson Allan Tamba confirmed the arrests, stating that the suspects are accused of forging documents purporting the supply of FRA maize to the Zambia National Service (ZNS) between April 1, 2024, and December 10, 2025.

Mr. Tamba revealed that the forged documents claimed 1,311 bags of maize had been supplied to ZNS, when in fact no such delivery was made. The maize involved is valued at over 772,000 kwacha.

The suspects have been identified as Pamela Hanyati (44), Florida Banda (44), Falesi Banda (41), Jimmy Gomile (35), and Gavin Hambulo (34). Investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the alleged fraud.
