Health Minister Elijah Muchima has announced that Zambia has successfully contained the cholera outbreak, with no active cases currently reported.
Dr. Muchima revealed that since the first case in September 2025, the country recorded 612 cumulative cases and nine deaths.
He noted that no new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours, and surveillance records confirm the outbreak has been fully contained.
He attributed the success to coordinated efforts by various ministries and institutions, underscoring the importance of collaboration in public health.
Dr. Muchima, however, appealed to citizens not to drop their guard, stressing that personal hygiene remains the first line of defence in safeguarding health.
