FAZ Confirms Lameck Banda Out of Danger After Collapse

Chipolopolo striker Lameck Banda was hospitalized after collapsing during U.S. Lecce’s 2-1 Serie A defeat to Napoli in Naples on Saturday.

The 25-year-old Zambian forward collapsed in the 87th minute following a collision with an opposing player and was rushed off the pitch.

In a brief statement on X, U.S. Lecce confirmed that Banda was immediately taken to Cardarelli Hospital in Naples.

Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Head of Media and Communications Nkweto Tembwe told ZNBC News that Chipolopolo Team Manager Charles Kalala has been in touch with Banda, who is now out of danger and has since been discharged from hospital.

Banda is part of the Zambia national football team squad named to play in the upcoming Four Nations Tournament scheduled for next week.
