Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) says it will continue supporting sports in communities as a way of promoting youth development and community growth.
Speaking during a football match between Nampundwe Football Club and ZAMMSA in Nampundwe, KCM Acting Chief Executive Officer Malcolm Mewett said investing in grassroots sports plays a critical role in nurturing talent and building strong communities.
Mr. Mewett further emphasized that promoting inclusivity in sports helps children with special needs feel valued and accepted within their communities.
The event featured football and netball matches showcasing the talents of young athletes in the area.
Meanwhile, Senior Chief Shakumbila of Shibuyunji District urged children to take their education seriously, stressing that discipline and commitment are essential for success in school and life.
Nampundwe Football Club player Landson Nzoma also thanked KCM for its continued support toward the team and youth activities in the community.
