President Hakainde Hichilema has urged UPND members to avoid internal conflicts that could undermine the progress the party has achieved while in government.
Addressing party members in Livingstone, including leaders, youths, women, men, persons with disabilities, and senior citizens, the President acknowledged sentiments suggesting that some voters may support him but not UPND parliamentary candidates.
He emphasized the need for unity within the party, stating that setting aside wrangles is key to ensuring effective governance, as he relies on party officials to support and pass policies that benefit the Zambian people.
President Hichilema added that unity is essential if Zambians are to continue enjoying development programmes such as free education and other government initiatives.
He further urged elected leaders to be servants of the people, work closely with communities, and learn to coexist with them.
Meanwhile, the President reminded youths that they are at the centre of his governance, describing them as a valuable national asset. He reaffirmed his commitment to growing the economy to support young people through education and empowerment programmes.
