PF MP Mushanga Declares Support for Hichilema

PF Bwacha Member of Parliament Sydney Mushanga has pledged to support President Hakainde Hichilema ahead of the August general elections.

Mr. Mushanga said he will rally behind the President, citing what he described as the equitable distribution of resources and development across the country.

The lawmaker made the remarks in Livingstone during an engagement between President Hichilema and UPND members.

Meanwhile, over 600 members of the opposition Patriotic Front (PF) and other political parties have defected to the ruling UPND.

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, PF Livingstone District Treasurer Joyce Musokotwane said the decision was influenced by government’s development programmes in education, health, and social sectors.

President Hichilema reaffirmed his commitment to developing all sectors of the economy and expanding opportunities for young people beyond the August polls. He also called on UPND officials to remain united to secure victory and sustain development gains.

Youths also commended the President for programmes aimed at empowering young people.

David Livingstone College of Education Student Representative Irene Nyambe praised increased access to loans, bursaries, and skills training under the Constituency Development Fund (CDF).

And Mulungushi University Student Representative Macdonald Mwansa said students have resolved to support President Hichilema in the 2026 general elections.
