President Hakainde Hichilema says government will continue implementing reforms aimed at building a resilient economy amid ongoing global geopolitical tensions.
The President emphasized that the UPND administration remains steadfast in maintaining the policy parameters that have enabled Zambia to record notable economic gains.
He made the remarks when a delegation from Citibank, led by its CEO Lowani Chibesakunda, paid a courtesy call on him at State House this afternoon.
President Hichilema noted that since 2021, government has implemented measures that have contributed to reduced inflation, stability in the foreign exchange market, and improved interest rates.
Meanwhile, Ms. Chibesakunda said Citibank remains committed to supporting financial institutions through capital investment and structured mechanisms to de-risk projects.
She added that Zambia has seen improved economic performance with increased participation in the economy, and that the current investment climate has enabled the country to host and facilitate discussions focused on development, particularly in blending existing projects across various sectors.
