A 46-year-old woman of Chingola has been killed by a mob in Kalumbila District after she was accused of causing the disappearance of the private parts of PRINCE NTAMBO following physical contact at a local market.

Deputy Police Spokesperson CHIPO KAITISHA has identified the victim as ENELESS KAMUTUMBE of Chingola.
Ms. KAITISHA says the allegation caused panic and triggered a commotion, leading to the formation of a mob that attacked the deceased using sticks, stones, planks and other objects.
She says attempts to move the victim to safety failed as the situation worsened.
Ms. KAITISHA adds that despite efforts by police officers to secure and evacuate the victim, the mob continued with the assault, leading to her death.
She says the body was later retrieved by police, with reinforcement, after it had been abandoned along the Mwinilunga–Solwezi Road.
Ms. KAITISHA says the victim was rushed to Wumi Mini Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
She says eight suspects, including PRINCE NTAMBO and other individuals from the Kisasa area, have been apprehended and are assisting police with investigations.
Ms. KAITISHA says three police officers were injured after being attacked by members of the public during the incident.
She adds that a police motor vehicle was damaged, with its front windscreen shattered during the unrest.
This is contained in a statement issued to ZNBC News by Ms. KAITISHA.
