FAZ: Chipolopolo Must Not Be Pressured Against Argentina

By Chansa Kunda
Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) President Keith Mweemba says the Chipolopolo must not be put under pressure to win as they face world champions Argentina in an international friendly match on March 31st.
Mweemba explained that the fixture is part of FAZ’s rebuilding agenda, aimed at creating teams capable of qualifying for the Olympics and the 2030 FIFA World Cup.
He urged Zambians and stakeholders to have realistic expectations, stressing that the Argentina game will primarily be used to expose players and build a competitive squad.
Speaking after visiting the team in training in Lusaka, Mweemba said FAZ will continue to organize high-profile friendly matches, as they are key to elevating the status of Zambian football.
Meanwhile, interim Chipolopolo Coach George Lwandamina said players were selected on merit, based on their club performances, experience, and desire to represent the country.
Chipolopolo Captain Fashion Sakala described the Argentina fixture as a dream come true, pledging that the team is determined to fight and aim for victory.
Striker Albert Kangwanda added that being called up for the match is an honor, as he looks forward to playing against some of the biggest names in world football, including Lionel Messi.
