The National Council of Students’ Unions (NACOSU) has invited President Hakainde Hichilema to a Lusaka meet-and-greet event aimed at expressing appreciation for his youth-friendly initiatives and leadership.

Speaking during a press briefing in Lusaka today, NACOSU Acting Secretary General Vincent Sakala praised President Hichilema for his commitment to youth development, citing initiatives such as increased scholarships and allowances.

Mr. Sakala announced that the event, dubbed “Meet and Greet, His Excellency Salt Sana Lusaka Version 2.1.2”, will provide students and youth leaders with an opportunity to interact directly with the Head of State.

Meanwhile, NACOSU Women’s League representative Blossom Mwanza commended government for introducing free sanitary pads for girls in schools, describing the initiative as a boost to achieving Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 3, which promotes good health, well-being, and gender equality.

Evelyn Hone Student Union President Clinton Mubita also expressed gratitude to government for increasing scholarships from 12,000 to 15,000, saying the move will expand access to education for more students.
