Some Members of Parliament plan to raise a private members motion, calling for the regulation of Artificial Intelligence -AI-, particularly in academic institutions.
Kanyama Member of Parliament, MONTY CHINKULI says the legislators are concerned with rapid increase in overdependence on AI in schools and universities, which is discouraging creativity.
Meanwhile, a Lusaka-based Lecturer, HOPSON LUPIYA has told ZNBC news that AI is gradually leading to graduates, who are unable to critically analyse key societal issues.
And some students spoken to have indicated that AI helps them get their school work done while others say it has taken away the creativity in learners.
