GOVERNMENT is considering removing visas for all African countries to achieve free-flow and easy movement of tourists.
Speaking at the 2023 RwandAir Awards in Lusaka, Minister Rodney Sikumba said Zambia would like to go the Rwandese way to encourage more Africans to visit Zambia as a destination.
He said Government supports initiatives such and appreciates the contribution of the airline and travel agents as they help to promote destination Zambia through business and leisure connections with different destinations worldwide.
Minister said his Ministry particularly, acknowledges the efforts of the creative and resilience minds in the travel-trade industry as these contribute to the growth of the Zambian economy as players in the travel-trade industry play a critical role in the tourism sector as they enhance visitor experience with the various services they provide to our travelers. today, your valuable partnership and contribution is being recognized and this adds to the success story of the airline and industry as a whole.
And Rwanda High Commissioner to Zambia Ambassador Amadin Rugina said the contribution of RwandAir to the tourism sector and general economy of that country is immense.
He said with the Visit Rwanda Campaign has been a ‘game changer’ boosting tourist arrivals and tourism offing standing at USD445 million by the year 2021.
Meanwhile, RwandAir Country Manager Glyden Mungaila, said the airline was awarding travel agents and other key stakeholders for their outstanding contribution in the 2022-2023 financial year.
She among other international accolades, RwandAir was listed among the Most Improved Airlines at the prestigious 2018 World Airline Awards.
Mrs. Mungaila said the airline relies on solid partnership with various key players in our line of business.
