(ZANIS) The Kasama High Court has upheld the five months jail sentence of Patriotic Front Member CHISHIMBA KAMBWILI.
Mr. KAMBWILI was in November 2023 sentenced to five months imprisonment with hard Labour by the Kasama Magistrate Court for hate speech.
This was after he was found guilty of using tribal and regional remarks during the campaign for the 2021 general election.
However, Mr. KAMBWILI appealed the conviction before the Kasama High Court which has since disposed of the case.
A Panel of three High Court Judges sitting in Kasama High Court, comprising MATHEW ZULU, TWAAMBO MUSONDA and DANIEL MUSONDA delivered the verdict.
