Monze Farmers Begin Receiving Payments for Maize Supplied to FRA

Farmers in Monze District have started receiving payments for maize supplied to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA).
District Agricultural Coordinator Dennis Mooya told ZNBC News that over 12,000 farmers have already been paid, with the remaining expected to receive their money soon.
Mr. Mooya explained that, thanks to the government’s bonding initiative, the farming community has overwhelmingly responded to the call to supply maize to FRA.
He noted that Monze has about 85,000 small-scale farmers, with most of them contributing maize to the agency. So far, FRA has purchased over 420,000 bags of maize in the district.
