ECZ Commends Progress in Extended Voter Registration in Rufunsa

By Cindy Mulomba
Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) Commissioner Ndiyoi Mutiti has expressed satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing extended mobile voter registration exercise in Rufunsa District.
During a tour of registration centres, Ms. Mutiti said the extension has enabled more eligible citizens to register, noting that many would have been left out had the exercise not been prolonged.
She added that ECZ staff are now fully settled and working long hours to ensure every eligible voter is captured.
Ms. Mutiti emphasized that the voter registration process belongs to every Zambian, and their participation is vital in ensuring that all citizens have a voice in choosing the country’s leadership.
Meanwhile, Headman Lupenga welcomed the extension, saying many people in his area are still turning up to register.
Florence Mwanza, a representative of the Christian Churches Monitoring Group, also praised the extension, noting that it has provided an important opportunity for more eligible voters to exercise their right to vote in the 2026 General Election.
