Nalumango Confirms Sino Metals Pollution Report Due This Weekend

Vice President Mutale Nalumango has announced that the consultant engaged to assess the Sino Metals pollution incident in Copperbelt Province is expected to issue a report this weekend.
Mrs. Nalumango said the assessment is progressing well and is now nearing completion.
She explained that a new tailings dam has been constructed with enhanced safety features, noting that the defects which led to the collapse of the previous dam have since been rectified.
The Vice President made the remarks in the National Assembly during Question Time, in response to a query from Nalolo Member of Parliament, Imanga Wamunyima, who sought clarification on measures Government is taking to address the pollution caused by Sino Metals.
