President Hakainde Hichilema has reaffirmed government’s commitment to ensuring that Zambians benefit more from the mining value chain through the implementation of the local content law.
Speaking during a press conference at State House, the President emphasized the central role of mining in Zambia’s economy. He noted that government is encouraging entrepreneurship and supplier development programs to create more jobs in the sector.
President Hichilema further called for the formalization of mining activities to prevent environmental damage and curb illegal practices, stressing that sustainable mining is key to long-term national growth.
