Sino Metals Apologizes Over Industrial Accident, Nalumango Stresses Safety First

Sino Metals has formally apologized to the Zambian government following the industrial accident that forced operations to a halt.

Company representative Wang Jingjun, accompanied by Lulu Shi, requested that operations be reopened during a meeting with Vice President Mutale Nalumango in Nanchang, China.

The engagement took place on the sidelines of the 2025 World Green Development Investment and Trade Expo and the China Green Food Expo, scheduled for November 27–30 in Jiangxi Province.

Vice President Nalumango welcomed the apology but emphasized that no decision will be made until a team of Ministers thoroughly reviews and validates the preliminary safety report. She advised Sino Metals to follow all guidance provided and ensure strict measures are in place to prevent harm and avoid secondary pollution in surrounding communities.

Mrs. Nalumango reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to protecting investors while insisting that diligence, transparency, and accountability must guide the way forward.
