The Ministry of Finance is in the process of releasing K1.3 billion to address the shortfall in the 2024 Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
Local Government and Rural Development Minister Gift Sialubalo explained that the 2024 CDF had a deficit of K2.56 billion due to low absorption rates and other challenges.
Speaking during a media briefing in Lusaka, Mr. Sialubalo emphasized that the K1.3 billion must be fully utilized by local authorities within the current 2025 financial year.
He further stated that the remaining balance of K1.26 billion will be funded in the 2026 financial year.
