Education Permanent Secretary, Kelvin Mambwe, says this brings the total number of students who have benefited from the scheme to over 53,000.

The benefiting students are enrolled at the University of Zambia (UNZA), Copperbelt University (CBU), Mulungushi University, Chalimbana University, Kwame Nkrumah University, and Palabana University.

Others are at Kapasa Makasa University, Mukuba University, Zambia University College of Technology, and Levy Mwanawasa Medical University.

Dr. Mambwe explained that the students are also receiving meal, book, and project allowances, while those not accommodated are given a housing allowance.

He said this in an interview with ZNBC News in Lusaka.
