The UPND Alliance has endorsed President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA as its sole candidate for the 2026 General Election.
Alliance Spokesperson LESLIE CHIKUSE says President HICHILEMA remains the only candidate capable of moving the nation forward.
Mr. CHIKUSE adds that the Alliance would not entertain any suggestion of replacing President HICHILEMA, describing him as “a scoring striker who keeps winning matches for the team.”
Speaking at a press briefing in Lusaka today, he said the President’s performance record speaks for itself, earning him support even in areas where he previously received fewer votes.
Meanwhile, Alliance Deputy Spokesperson EDMOND MITI pointed to the free education policy, the upgrading of hospitals and health facilities, and the restoration of student meal allowances in public universities as some of the President’s most significant achievements.
And Alliance partner and NAREP President EZRA NGULUBE said that under President HICHILEMA’s leadership, Zambia has seen renewed investor confidence, steady public sector recruitment, and better oversight in the mining sector.
