On February 25, 2025, the Parliamentary Committee on Media and Information, visited the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) studios at the Mass Media Complex.
The committee members included Mr. Raphael Mabenga, Mr. Romeo Kangombe, Mr. Chanda Katotobwe, Mr. Elias Daka, Sydney Mushanga, Ms. Melesiana Phiri, and Mr. Walusa Mulaliki.
The primary objective of their visit was to gain a deeper understanding of ZNBC’s operations, challenges, and the impact of the current TV levy on the Corporations financial sustainability.
The MPs toured the facilities at the Mass Media Complex, including the Outside Broadcasting equipment, radio studios, television studios, and the transmitter hall.
This tour allowed the committee members to observe the complexities of modern broadcasting and the investments necessary to maintain high quality services.
Following the tour, the committee engaged in a meeting with ZNBC officials. The ZNBC team was led by Board Chairperson Bishop Joseph Kazhila and Director General Mr. Berry Lwando
